Wilson's Wharf
Wilson's Wharf is one of Durban's trendiest venues, whether it's day or night. With its incomparable harbour views, visitors love to try out the fusion of fun and food on offer in this beautiful setting. There are often top shows and crafts on display, and these blended with the rustic interface of a boating marina and working slipway make for an exciting setting.
Wilson's Wharf is situated in Boatmans Street, just off the Victoria Embankment and next to the Sugar Terminal.

The Point
North Pier guards the northern entrance to Durban's huge
harbour, and it is from this point southwards around the
quayside that the Point Waterfront development is
beginning
to take shape.
At any time of the day or night, North Pier is usually
packed with ever-hopeful anglers patiently casting their
lines into the ocean. Along the quayside are a number of
bright modern venues where you can sit and watch ships,
from small to massive, constantly moving in and out of
Africa’s busiest port. A popular watering hole on a
hot
and sultry Durban evening is Thirsty's, a favourite place
for locals who come to eat and drink while watching
dolphin
and fish playing and feeding under the spotlights.
Over the next few years there are plans to develop this
whole area into a major tourism complex, with features
like
an underwater museum and auditorium, an entertainment
dome,
a multi-storey shopping complex, jazz clubs, restaurants
and night clubs and a maze of specialist shops and
stalls.
There is already a large flea market in place as well as a
growing number of restaurants and pubs. One of the newest
additions to the area is the Bluff or Millennium Tower,
viewed across the harbour entrance, adorning the end of
the
green finger of the Bluff. The Tower was recently
completed
and serves a number of uses besides being an essential to
shipping. The metal gridwork cowl swivels according the
direction of the wind, lights indicate the tides and lazer
light displays are to be added in the evenings.z
